Saying Goodbye to Mack

It is with a sad heart that we say goodbye to one of the dogs in our book, Mack, who passed away last week at 15 years young. Mack was a Dalmatian owned by Brent and Lara (Davy’s owners) and is featured on pages 15 & 17 of The Davy Rule.

Brent has shared Mack’s obituary with us below:

Mack was a singleton puppy delivered by Caesarian section. He became the centre of attention of his Mother Fall who doted on his every action. As if that attention was inadequate my niece Mallory was hired to babysit him while Lara and I were at work. Jake was amazed by the size of his boy and would guide his actions around the other dogs. Mack took quickly to obedience and flyball. JJ our talkative and singing Dal (Nacho Man) quickly engaged Mack in linguistics and vocalization. The boy had stories to tell and directions to give. We realized that Mack flourished best as the sun, centre of the universe. When his half brother Coal passed the difficult decision was made for the sun to receive the devoted attention and love of Carl and Delores. What paradise, Carl’s attention and walkies and Delores’ never ending treat bowl. Mack is much loved and will be deeply missed, resting with his family at the Dalmatian Plantation.

For those who have them (pets) give them some extra love, they are gone too quickly.

It’s never easy saying goodbye to someone we love and unfortunately our pets are only here for such a short time.

The entire team at The Davy Rule sends our thoughts to Brent and Lara, especially Rob, who was fortunate enough to spend some time with Mack.
